Even though I written lots of content about things to do while vacationing on the Bodrum Peninsula, I omitted to include information about transport from Bodrum Airport to your. NOTE: Un-officially the local airport is know as “Bodrum Airport”, but it’s official name is “Milas-Bodrum Airport”.

Many people who use this airport choose to visit the Bodrum Peninsula, mostly because this area has some of the most famed sites in Turkey. With this being said, if you do not know what you are doing, transport from Bodrum Airport to your destination is not easy. Here, we will look at the only options available:
Car Hire
Renting a car at the Milas – Bodrum Airport is a good choice for a number of reasons. First, small cars can be obtained for as little as 115 Euros for a seven-day trip. Furthermore, it gives you the choice to go as far into Turkey as you like without having to schedule your day around bus’s.
At just 36 kilometres from the airport, driving from the airport to Bodrum Peninsula will take you about 30 minutes. All the well-known car hire companies operate from Milas–Bodrum Airport, including; Hertz and Avis.
Taxis
Taxi transfers from the airport to Bodrum Peninsula are common and getting a taxi outside the airport will not be an issue. With this being said, prices can be as high as £25 per person, but the benefit to this is that you get dropped off at your destination.
TAXI TIPS: There are two primary rates in the taxi. Day and Night. So if you’re traveling during the day – just double check that the metre is on the correct rate.
- The metre should read “Günduz” between 6am until midnight – indicating the Day Rate.
- Between the hours of midnight and 6am, the night rate is in affect and will read “Gece”
Havaş Shuttle
Unsurprisingly the cheapest way to get to Bodrum Peninsula. The company, Havaş, provides a convenient shuttle to get to the Bodrum Peninsula, and departs from the Domestic terminal. This transfer takes about 45 minutes and will cost somewhere in the region of £4.50 per person. This is ideal if you are travelling alone, in a couple or as part of a large group.
Transport from Bodrum Airport to your Destination – It’s your choice
These are just three ways it’s possible to make the 36 kilometre journey from the airport to Bodrum Peninsula. Obviously, buses, taxis and shuttles all have their benefits and drawbacks, but they provide you with some good options to get you to your holiday destination.
