Driving through rural landscape
The non-stop ocean views I’d enjoyed during my coastal drive, came to a screeching halt as I headed inland just past Aspat Hill.
As you drive away from the marriage of blue ocean kissing blue skies, you’re thrown head long into a rural deserted landscape as you head towards Bağla. A big hill on your right is fronted by a small farm, with dirt roads leading off into the barren hillside.
Drive a little further, and there’s an oasis of green trees rising out of this arid landscape. It was early Autumn when I took this drive, and the land definitely showed the ravages of a blazing summer.
The road was more of less deserted, and it felt like I was trespassing on a hidden corner of rural Turkey.
The fields were fenced with posts and wire, and I felt like I was driving into Area 51, it was eery and disquieting, and although I got out of the car to take photo’s, I jumped back in and sped off towards Bağla without looking back.
After about 2.5km, I rounded another hill, and my senses were assaulted by the vision of the Magic Life in Bağla to my right.
