In keeping with tradition, your meal at Tel Dolap might begin with a few meze. For those, who have difficulties making a quick decision, a delightful confusion lies ahead when meze trays are presented for your selection. Your selection, presented on two immense trays, is so varied it might momentarily boggle the mind with its colorful display.

Directions to Tel Dolap:

Coming from Bodrum toward Turgutreis, take the Dereköy road to the right and continue through the village of Dereköy on the asphalt to the crest of the hill where you can see the valley of Gümüslük.

Continue down the hill a short distance until you come to a turn-around.

Enter the turn-around, keeping to the right, and make another immediate right up a rather steep incline onto the Karakaya Road.

Follow the asphalt until you come to a small sign pointing “Tel Dolap” to the left. Leave the asphalt with a left turn and enter a dirt track. You will pass several village houses and a few interested cows. The track will lead you to a very steep stone-paved driveway leading up to the restaurant.

Put your car in low gear and slowly follow up the drive to the restaurant. For first-timers, the driveway can be a bit intimidating, but persevere. It is worth it.

Coming from Turgutreis, you must take the Gümüşlük/Yalıkavak road, taking a right turn at the cemetery. Follow across the valley until the road makes a “T.” Make another right, continuing to the turn-around. Circle the turn-around and take the Karaka road to the immediate right, following the above directions from the turn-around. Bon appetite!
