Gumusluk is well known for seafood restaurants overlooking the harbour. The view is great and you’re entrenched in ambiance, but the downside is that some of these restaurants can bust your budget. But the good news is that don’t have to venture very far to find some alternative places to eat.
Non Stop Bar
The popular (but tired) expat bar The Mars Cafe has closed down, and in its place is a revamped alternative, the Non Stop Bar. We haven’t been here yet, but you can check out their website to view their full menu and check out the prices.
The Non Stop bar is located on the left hand side of the road leading down to the dolmus station and public car park. The raised aspect of the outside patio area means you still get a sliver of a view of Gumusluk Bay.
- Menu available on their website – takeaway (paket) service available.
The Ice Irish Bar and Restaurant
The Ice Bar has been open for a couple of years, and we visited here one evening for a drink but haven’t had anything to eat off their extensive menu. We got a friendly welcome and the music was good, we even got to put in a request and get specific music played.
Irish Bars are a global phenomenon – visit any major city around the world and you’ll find an Irish bar showing football games. You expect something like this in Bodrum, Turgutreis or Gumbut, but I didn’t think we’d be welcoming an Irish Bar in Gumusluk any time soon. But give Ice it’s dues, it doesn’t look like a quintessential Irish Bar, and seems to be Irish in name only and not in decor.

Kebap Gurme
There always seems to be at least a table or two of customers each time we pass Kebap Gurme, which is right next to the Ice Bar. It’s a traditional Turkish restaurant, and the decor has an extra layer of polish.
It’s one of those places that we keep promising ourselves we need to visit because it looks good from the outside, and the menu has all the standard Turkish fayre. Once we’ve been – I’ll let you know how good it is. But based on the feedback from friends and acquaintances – it’s well worth a visit.
The Ice Bar and Kepab Gurme are just past the Post Office close to where the weekly market is held.
Izbe Sarap Evi and Bar
The entrance to this little hideaway bar is tucked between the bakery and the bakkal along the narrow lane (1120 Sokak) leading to the Belediye Cafe. This cosy bar is upstairs and has a view of the harbour.
- Website doesn’t seem to be working at the moment, but they do have a Facebook page.
Restaurant Locations
Gumusluk continues to evolve and change. There’s a revolving door of restaurants and bars arriving and disappearing from the village, some of which are only open during the season and others who persevere throughout the year. The goal of this post isn’t to review or recommend this trio or restaurants, it’s to raise awareness of the newish arrivals on the scene, so you have a better idea of what your options are to sate your hunger or thirst.
If you’ve been to any of these restaurants, let us know what you thought of the food and service, so that you can help other Gumusluk visitors decide where to drink and eat.
