Rashids Turkish Bath Complex logo Ortakent TurkeyDriving between Ortakent and Yalikavak, you’ll need to turn off the main road and head towards Yaka Köy to discover Rashid’s Turkish Bath.

This Hamam was formerly known as the Rayola Hamam, but changed to it’s new name a couple of years ago, and the sign and website have been updated.

Getting There

Look out for the blue sign to Yaka Köy, and the red and white Hamam sign, and then follow the side road as in zig zags through the back roads.  After about half a km or so, you’ll see the stone fronted entrance leading to the Hamam on your left.

I haven’t had a Turkish Bath at this Hamam, but I did pass it on the way to the Dibekli Han.  It was at the beginning of the season, and they must have been having a slow day, because when I visited, most of the staff were sitting outside enjoying the sunshine.

Parking, Dolmus or Free Pick up:

There’s plenty of car parking, but if you don’t have your own transport, you can arrange to be picked up from you local Bodrum location.

There’s also a Bodrum to Yak Köy dolmus, which passes the Hamam and the Debekli Han.

The Hamam

It’s a lovely looking building, nestled in a tranquil off-the-beaten-track location.  The domed roof is 11 meters high, and has an array of thick glass skylights which direct beams of light into the Hamam.  The building itself is covered with natural stone, and consists of 3 floors.

Upon entering, you’ll encounter a spacious lobby with a fireplace, and a shop selling traditional Turkish goods. Guests are led to Welcome Rooms, where the staff will explain the Turkish Bath process, and give you a summary of the different services available (e.g. massages).  Upstairs there are 2 Hamams, a chill-out/resting zone and a Sauna, Steam Room and Shock Pool (cold!), as well as a jaccuzzi.  There’s also a Mud Bath, and a Power Shower to wash it all off!

As well as the standard Turkish bath services and massages, the complex also provides additional spa and beauty treatments such as ladies hair dressing, barbers, manicure and pedicure.

  1. Hi Nicola. As well as this Hamam in Ortakent, there’s also one in Bodrum right near the dolmus station, and then there’s one a little off the beaten track at the end of Ataturk Street. I’ll get some details together and add it to the site. As well as these three public hamam’s a lot of the bigger hotels have their own Turkish Baths on their premises. I recently wrote about one in Kadikalesi.

In the menu bar, just under the header, click on “Things to do” to navigate to all of the Turkish Bath content on this site. (Things to do > Spa Services > Turkish Bath)

If you visit a Turkish Bath in the Bodrum area, let me know, and I’ll include an article about it. Thanks, Jay

    1. Rashid’s Hamam (formerly The Rayola Hamam) is in the town of Ortakent, about 20 minutes away from central Bodrum. They offer free pick up from local hotels etc., just give them a call to arrange it.

The oldest Turkish Bath in Bodrum is the Bardakçı Hamam – which is left off Ataturk Street in Central Bodrum. I recently posted some information about this Turkish Bath – and also included a guest post from a guy called Sam who visited it. On Trip Advisor the Bardakçı Hamam seems to get the best reviews. It looks a bit unkempt from the outside, but I hear the inside is nice, and I’m going to try it for myself, later in the year! Jay

      1. Hi,

I am still in the UK but travel out next week, i would like to arrange to be collected from my hotel in Bodrum, is this possible?

  2. We visit this Hammam today and unfortunately they are not so good as we expect it is same as any other Turkish bath but more expensive (3 time more expensive).
Also they offer soft drinks to you like any other Hammam but at the payment they charge you in high price (one cuo of Orange juice 4 Euro!! While it’s normal price is 3 TL)
I think it is BAD DEAL …….
