Limon Cafe
About 1km outside of Gümüşlük, on the road to Yalikavak, sits the Limon Cafe. From the road it looks a bit ramshackled, and I drove past it multiple times, before deciding to venture in. But don’t let the entrance fool you.
As you walk through the shrouded entrance, on the right you’ll come across the Limon Cafe’s tiny arts and crafts store. Keep walking along the path, and you’ll pass the small building that houses the kitchen.
Next you’ll come the to small outside bar, and then leading down the hillside, there’s steps take you to the outside restaurant scattered about the hillside.
Limon Cafe is decorated in a relaxing style with wooden chairs and tables, sofas and big cushions laying invitingly on huge straw rugs. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the sunset, and in the evening, the fairly lights and bedside table lights illuminate the hillside, making the expansive hill an intimate place to enjoy a meal or drink.
Sunday’s are a busy evening, and you’ll need to book – the hillside is abuzz with Turkish families enjoying the last of the weekend. This is a popular spot, so if you want to be sure to secure a premium spot to watch the sunset – call ahead and make a reservation or just pop in on your way past.
There’s parking available at the entrance – on both sides of the street. The entrance is near a bend in the road, so be careful when you’re backing out of the parking spot.

People come from all over the peninsular to Limon bar/restaurant to watch the sunset and sip cocktails. Set just above the fishing village, it has spectacular views over unspoilt countryside to the bay and numerous islands beyond.
Seating is on sofas and armchairs and the tables spread out from the bar all along the hillside. If you just come for drinks and the sunset, beware the price of cocktails! However, a meal with wine or beer can be reasonably priced. The salad we had was fresh and the pasta and lamb dishes were tasty. With a glass of wine, coffee and a dessert we paid £20 each.
Call in at the restaurant to make your reservation and choose your table. Then make sure you arrive on time! We were a few minutes late the first time we went there and nearly lost our carefully selected sofa!

Looks like a fabulous place to eat. A little bit out of the way, but well worth the trip for sunset.
