Tucked around the back of the PTT (Post Office), on Türk Kuyusu Caddesi is this oasis of a Bodrum Coffee House with an impressive wooden entrance. We were on our way to lunch so didn’t have time to stop for a coffee, but next time we’re in the area we’re definitely spending some time here.

Bodrum Coffee House Courtyard & Shop
The courtyard is an inviting mix of traditional stone floors and rustic furniture, and is reminiscent of a traditional Han. It invites you to park your mode of transport at the gate, and step back in time to linger over a cup (or two) of coffee.
It’s citrus season at the moment in Bodrum, and the wooden bowl of mandarins added an enticing flash of colour to the decor. There was also jars of hand-made soaps and recently preserved jams and marmalades from the recent local harvest.
As well as the main courtyard, there were little ante-rooms with customers huddled together around tables, as the steam from their coffee curled around their ears.
One of the rooms housed the main shop area, with all the accoutrements you’d need to make coffee and home. It reminded me of a village shop from a previous generation.
The proprietors have been successful in creating a traditional ambiance wrapped in a warm welcome, so next time you’re in the area, let me know about your visit here.
It’s only a very short stroll from the main artery of Cevat Şakir Caddesi, but looks well worth making the detour for.

Yet I’ll comme again next may. Thank you for your writings. I know a few artists in Bodrum peninsula and I am eager to meet more ( I know well Enver Gündogan, Neslihan, Aïla…
