Gümüşcafe Restaurant
Gümüşcafe is set a little apart from other restaurants. Although it’s called a Cafe .. it really is more of a restaurant, which is deftly run by Botan Günöz.
The Gümüşcafe is a romantic dinner destination, as it’s about 80 metres from the nearest restaurant in either direction, enabling you to distance yourself from the throng of diners further along the harbour.
To reach it, walk past the main group of restaurants huddled by the harbour jetty, and follow the dirt path that leads you along the water’s edge.
The Gümüşcafe is located in an old bakery, and they still use the oven to create their fresh baked bread. There is indoor seating, and on the other is a small covered platform jutting out into the water, which is decorated with fairy lights and sparkling gourds.
This array of tables is serviced by attentive restaurant staff who scurry back and forth from the kitchen on the other side of the path.
We’ve visited here a number of times for dinner, and each time we’ve had a delicious meal in an unhurried environment.
The last time we ate at the Gümüşcafe, we were on our way home from a late night shopping trip in Turgutreis. We were ravenous by the time we got to Gümüşluk, but many of the other restaurants were packing up for the night because it was late in the season.
The Gümüşcafe was our saviour.
Even though they’d already packed their fish up on ice for the night, they got them out again so we could choose which one we wanted cooked for dinner. There were other diners lingering over raki, coffee and desert, so we didn’t feel too bad about being late arrivals.
We needn’t have worried though, by the time we finished our complimentary dessert, and were ready to leave, those same diners were still chatting and sipping.
This really made our night, and we’ll be returing to the Gümüşcafe for sure!
Gümüş Cafe has Wi-Fi
This is Botan at the restaurant, hard at work sorting out his social media!

I love going to Gümüşlük it is so peaceful and relaxing and I love sitting at the cafe as it is right next to the water and you can just forget about the world while sipping your Turkish Tea.
The tough part is deciding which restaurant to choose…!
