A Message from Jay
I read an early pre-release edition of the book and am excited to be offering an autographed copy of Jack’s book on my Bodrum Blog. Jack and I “met” online in 2008 when he was just starting his Bodrum Peninsula adventure, and I was desperately searching around the internet for any information I could about the Bodrum area. I ended up starting a blog shortly after … and now all these years later, we are both authors with 2 books under our belt and are still active bloggers. Jack and Liam have since moved from Bodrum back to the UK (you’ll find out why in Turkey Street) and as they’re located in the flat-lands of Norfolk, I get to see them every time I come home to Norwich. I can’t recommend Jack’s two books enough. They provide an insightful view of what it’s like to be an expat in Turkey.
The winner of this giveaway will take a virtual stroll down Turkey Street with their very own autographed copy of Jack’s book “Turkey Street: Jack and Liam move to Bodrum”.
So What’s Happening in Turkey Street?
Six months into their Turkish affair, Jack and Liam, a gay couple from London, took lodgings in the oldest ward of Bodrum Town. If they wanted to shy away from the curtain-twitchers, they couldn’t have chosen a worse position.
Their terrace overlooked Turkey Street like the balcony of Buckingham Palace and the middle-aged infidels stuck out like a couple of drunks at a temperance meeting.
Against all the odds, the boys from the Smoke were welcomed into the fold by a feisty mix of eccentric locals and a select group of trailblazing expats, irresistible ladies with racy pasts and plucky presents.
Hop aboard Jack’s rainbow gulet as he navigates the choppy waters of a town on the march and a national resurgence not seen since Suleiman the Magnificent was at the gates of Vienna.
Grab your deckchair for a whirlwind tour of love and duty, passion and betrayal, broken hearts and broken bones, dirty politics and the dawn of a new Ottoman era.
sounds an interesting tale to read
