Cafe Nar Çiçeği (Cafe Pomegranate Flower)
Not all of Gumusluk’s cafes and restaurants are located right along the harbour, but even those that at first glance seem a little bit out of the way, can provide a different perspective on the tried and tested view at the water’s edge. This definitely the case for Cafe Nar Çiçeği, which is located on the land-side of the main road leading out of Gumusluk, just up the hill that takes you away from the harbour and craft stalls.
You can’t miss Cafe Nar Çiçeği, because what were once white stone steps, have now been painted multi-coloured to make sure this location catches your eye.
After you wander up the colourful stone steps, you pass tables placed on the slope overlooking Gumusluk harbour, and although this restaurant is open for breakfast, it seems like the optimal time to visit this cafe is for a birds-eye view of the sunset.
Excerpt from Bodrumtadinda blog
This blogger went to Cafe Nar Çiçeği and took a couple of photos of the view and their breakfast. I’ve translated part of their article into Turkish, so you can read what they said about the breakfast. (I haven’t been here yet)
Our breakfast was very satisfying and tasty. Tomatoes, peppers and olives from the village garden. Jam (which I think was tangerine jam and berry jam) made my the owner’s mother. Eggs and cheese, again from the village. They served us thin, crispy herb brioche, which was exquisite.
Prices are also very reasonable. Definitely a place you should try at sunset. Note: The location for the afternoon to watch the sunset was packed. And a reservation for breakfast is recommended.
