Berk Balık, a favourite local restaurant

If you’re on Bodrum’s Bar Street, head towards the Halikarnas Disco, past the noise and fuss until the crowds begin to thin.  Nestled within a group of local restaurants, you’ll spy Berk Balık. A couple of snug rows of tables front this restaurant, the majority of which are taken by Turks drinking Raki.

If there’s no room in front of the restaurant, head up the stairs, and sit on the balcony above the restaurant.  It’s still open-air – but with an aura of calm.

They’ll bring you the tray of meze to choose from, or if you’d rather, visit the kitchen and choose your meze, and then your fish.

We ate here countless times, and we’ll be going back again.  This is a fabulous local restaurant.  It made my Top 5.
